Mohill Band, Baltimore - Cover Band for All Occasions

The Mohill Band is one of the best cover bands in Baltimore. They are well known for their ability to play almost any type of music and to do it very well. This makes them an ideal choice for any function, if you know what kind of music you need they can provide that. If not they can provide you with a wide ranging yet suitable list of songs that they can perform. This makes the process of choosing the music for your function quite simple.

The Mohill Band got its start in the late nineties when guitarist John Bauer was between bands. He had played in a number of bands over the years but had mostly been making his living giving guitar lessons. Bauer made the decision that his new band would be a cover band since that would make it easier to find paying jobs; it also meant they wouldn't have to deal with writing songs. In order to fill out his band Bauer found some other musicians who were also between bands. They started looking for opportunities to play unfortunately they were few and far between.

The first few years of the Mohill Band were a struggle for a variety of reasons, in part because they weren't finding all the many jobs and in part because all of the members of the band were looking to move on to other things. John Bauer is the only member of the band who is still there. They went through several changes of personal as people came and went. After a couple of years it looked like the Mohill Band was on its last legs. However it was at this point that Bauer decided to get serious.

Realizing that the Mohill Band was probably his last chance at playing in a band professionally Bauer decided that they needed to start taking things more seriously. He went out and recruited new members for the band, guys who were serious and wanted to be there rather than guys who were just playing there until something better came along. This is when they came up with the current lineup of Jurgen Bernaerts, Erik Oldens and Tim Jacobs, along with Bauer. They also started to treat the whole thing a lot more professionally than they had in the past.

With the new members of the band in place, the first thing they did was to expand their set list. They realized that they all had a wide variety of interests when it comes to music so they took advantage of this. The fact that they could play so many different types of music opened up a lot more opportunity to play for the Mohill Band. This along with the fact that they played very well started to earn them a reputation around Baltimore as one of the top cover bands in town. A reputation that they have continued to live up to.
